Wordless Wednesday: Fantasy Faire, Disneyland

Welcome back to another Wordless Wednesday blog hop hosted by the destined Deb at Focused on the Magic!

During my Disneyland trip in March, 2013,they had some pretty lame Limited Time Magic events happening.  This was another disappointment - the brand new Fantasy Faire was open.....to Annual Passholders.  Ugh.  I did get some shots from afar though!

Favorite Food Friday: Holiday Turkey

Welcome to another Favorite Food Friday hosted by the dapatical Disney Day by Day!

You guys may remember my first Earl of Sandwich review of the Full Montagu and the Original 1762 (and the Coronet Cakes): here.

Well when Sarah of the Eating WDW blog started participating in the Eat Each Sandwich challenge, I knew I had to join in as well!  I also reviewed the Chicken Chipotle Avocado Sandwich (and their chocolate chip coookie), the All American Sandwich (plus oatmeal mini cookies), and the Earl Club Sandwich (plus chocolate and vanilla cupcakes)!

So I changed my job and am not longer a mere 10 minute walk from the sole Earl of Sandwich in my area.  Quel tragique!  But I managed to get one more sandwich in before I left: the Holiday Turkey!

Guys, this was GOOD.  A bit on the wet side but who CARES.  I did not care.  My stomach did not care.  We were both perfectly happy with this delicious meld of turkey, cranberry, stuffing and mayo on a hot toasted roll.  #sorrynotsorry

We also have a red velvet cupcake whose icing didn't quite make the trip in one piece.

FILLING!  You guys know how I feel about cupcakes without proper fillings (read: they should be formally abolished by law).

Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop: Mickey Brownie

Welcome back to another Wordless Wednesday hosted by the featured Focused on the Magic!

On my Disneyland trip I swung by the Marceline Confectionary in Downtown Disney to try out these new Mickey-ear-shaped brownies.  Here we have the plain one, but I also tried the toffee one too.

The chocolate coating was nice and thick but the brownie was a little dry and could have used more oomph in the flavor.

Wordless Wednesday: Carthay Circle Meal

Welcome back to another "Wordless" Wednesday hosted by the indefatigable Deb at Focused on the Magic!  (Guys, I spelled indefatigable correctly on the first try!)

After my yummy drink and a bit more of a wait in the lounge, my table was finally ready at Carthay Circle.  Having done my research, I knew I had to start off with the Carthay Signature Fried Biscuits

They were yummy!  Anything stuffed with cheddar, bacon, and jalapeno kind of has to be right?  Oh also: fried.  Oh also: comes with honey butter.  So like, definitely delicious, obviously.  I had these in addition to the traditional basket of rolls and butter because I love me some carbs.

For my entree I had the Tuscan-style Braised Lamb Cavatelli Pasta (CARBS!).  This pasta comes with sun-dried tomatoes (fine but not my favorite as a rule - they tend to overpower any dish), spinach, and Grana Padana cheese (CHEESE) in a rich lamb jus.  Naturally I finished every last bite.
I can ALWAYS make room for dessert, but nothing on the dessert menu appealed to me so I passed.  It was not a mind-blowing meal, but certainly delicious and worth the time and money.

Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop! Carthay Circle Drink

Welcome back to another Wordless Wednesday hosted by the friendly Focused on the Magic!
As mentioned earlier, I was early for my Carthay Circle dinner reservation.  No problem!  I really wanted to check out the machine that makes the spherical ice cubes at the bar.

The machine was really cool - it was about the size of an ice bucket and you put a block of ice inside and the cap slowly pushes down on the block (I think quickly melting it maybe?  It was very quiet - no noise) until it turns into a perfect sphere!

I am not into scotch-type drinks, so I asked the bartender to make me something sweet but ice cube appropriate.  She came up with what is probably a lemon drop.  As you can see I am a quick drinker.

Going.....
going....
gone!
